Small Grants 

Amount

£50 - £300

Frequency

January & June - two funding rounds per financial year

Purpose

Anything – equipment, trips, rent, running costs etc

Eligibility to apply

Only one application per group / organisation will be considered in any one financial year (1st April to 31st March).

Only available to not for profit organisations ie charities, voluntary groups / organisations, companies limited by guarantee etc.


The first round of our 2011/12 Small Grants programme have just been approved. Over thirty community groups benefitting the residents of the East Brighton area are to receive an award:

300 to help fund a monthly tea party targeting isolated elderly residents  
The Carers Centre 300 to purchase a new shed for the Craven Vale allotment site
Be Crafty 300 to fund two summer holiday arts based events in Sheepcote Valley and the local area
Gladrags 300 to run two sewing/costume making workshops for volunteers
Clickers Community Photography Group 300 for new studio lighting equipment
Hyde Charitable Trust 300 to provide equipment for the Saunders Park Community Clear Up Day
Orchards Social Club 300 to help fund the 2011 Christmas Party
Whitehawk South Central Residents Association 300 to help fund a trip to Tilgate Park
Metamorphosis Art Group 300 to help fund a trip to Charleston Farmhouse
Jubilee Court Tenants Association 300 for a Christmas party
Jubilee Court Garden Project 300 to fund the development of the garden project
Active Lightworks 300 to help fund low cost complementary therapy treatment courses @ Whitehawk Inn
Superdads 300 to help fund events for group members and their kids
Moulsecoomb Bangladeshi Womens Group 300 to help fund swimming sessions for group members
Friends of Wild Park 300 to help fund a teddy bears picnic for children from the area
North Moulsecoomb Tenants and Residents Association 300 for a halloween party
The Sussex Beacon 200 to engage with young people in the East Brighton area encouraging participation in the Brighton Half Marathon 2012
East Central Moulsecoomb Tenants and Residents Association 300 to help provide a Christmas party
Flamenco and Spanish Group 300 to purchase equipment for this newly formed group meeting at The Bridge  
The Green Centre 300

towards the cost of a new computer providing online data and information for volunteers and visitors


Concordia International Volunteers 300 to pay for the accomodation costs for weekend residential projects running at the Green Centre
Colourwheels 300 to help fund the "Youth Booth"event 2011
Moulsecoomb Primary School Dads Group

to provide the materials to make a smoothie bike to be used at events at the school and for hire to other local groups
